Our Dean Presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the Student Who Achieved Success in the Competition
Our PhD student Fadi Salah, supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Merve Tuna Kayılı, achieved great success by winning the first prize in an international competition themed around sustainable architecture. He was presented a certificate of appreciation by our Dean Prof. Dr. Selma Çelikyay for this meaningful achievement.

While the competition focused on the rehabilitation of historical buildings in the city of Nablus, Palestine, with sustainable approaches, Fadi Salah's project stood out as a pioneering work in this context. The project aimed to transform two historical buildings into modern uses with innovative and environmentally friendly methods within the scope of the Nablus Boulevard Project. While the protection of historical heritage was taken as the basis in the study, sustainability principles such as energy efficiency, water saving, recycling and preserving local architectural values were prioritized.

In addition, a comprehensive and exemplary model for the future was created by integrating environmentally sensitive technologies into the project and using smart building management systems.

We congratulate Fadi Salah for this important achievement and wish him continued success.
